Stretch, Breathe and Chant
With Dharm Singh Khalsa
We live in a difficult and complex time, where the world often seems to be running about as smoothly as a car on square wheels. Life can feel overwhelming – highlighted even more by a global pandemic – as we encounter our own challenges, and then try to figure out ways to tap into the resiliency and resolve needed to meet those tests with strength, courage, and grace. Additionally, as teachers, we have the desire to serve others through sharing the Teachings and supporting each individual’s personal growth.
During this time of increased challenges, it is important that each one of us practices self-care. Our studios, our classes, and our community spaces are vehicles of growth and self-care for so many. But it is infinitely important to remember to put on our own masks first! Tune into your own inner teacher and take time each day to visit your mat – practicing asana, pranayama, and meditation – just for you. Find joyful and sustainable physical activity. Have a dance party. Eat delicious and nutritious foods. Drink clean water. Get consistent and restorative sleep. Reach out to others. We are all in this together.
